A beautiful city

Hey guys! It's a pretty good day today and a day filled with many events.
So after my brother had his first book out, our whole family went to the cinemas together to watch Ah Boys To Men Part II. Although I watched it a week before, it was still an overwhelming experience as I was watching it with a different group of people. As you guys know, "Ah Boys To Men" is a really popular movie in Singapore. This movie is depicts the life of a boy being enlisted into the National Service to be trained to serve the country. This movie shows the difficulties encountered by the soldiers and how they managed to overcome them together with their platoon mates.
Today, which is a Sunday, is last book out day for my brother. He is going back to his camp tonight and while sitting on the car to be on our way to Pasir Ris, I'm actually writing this post. So the main part that I'm emphasising in this post is not driving my brother to Pasir Ris or anything.

I realised that after the sudden 'popular burst' for Ah Boys To Men, it changed almost every Singaporeans' reactions when they see a boy.. No, a man, wearing the army uniform outside. A pretty obvious example is what happened today when my brother, who is wearing the army uniform, waiting at the void deck for my parents to drive their car down from the carpark. A few kids were playing quite a distant away when they noticed my brother. One of them shouted "Ah boys to Men!" and my brother immediately took notice of them when he started waving towards the direction of the kid who shouted. After that kid shouted, the other kids started shouting the same phrase over and over again which got me stunned. Yes. Those kids definitely watched that Jack Neo film and it had left a deep impression about army boys towards the audiences.
Another example is when I left the elevator with my brother to the void deck, there was a group of people which looked like they were from the same family. The moment the lift door opened. I immediately heard a woman speak "Soldier leh.", twice, in Chinese. So that is the amount of attention he gets for being enlisted after his graduation.
In my own opinion, the movie "Ah Boys to Men" had definitely showed me the importance of serving the country and for males to be compulsory to serve the National Service for 2 years. As what the surgeon said "If not you, who else?". Yes, who else would have to serve NS If not for the guys? It even gave me a little bit of rush about joining the NS. Getting to instil some discipline in me and get to meet new friends to share our memories together.
So I'll stop here!! Cheers!!

Hugs and more HUGGGGSSSSS, <3 TKL :)
